Reason: Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Repeated misuse of the talk page with excessive discussions and comments from various Canadian range IPs that are WP:NOTHERE to contribute constructively and violate WP:NOTAFORUM since October. These have been excessive in a way that is unusual for a draft article. Despite IPs being warned, the inappropriate and unconstructive discussions and comments persist and show no sign of ceasing. Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Requests for autopatrolled |

Autopatrolled[edit]
I respectfully request autopatrol and patrol rights, based on my extensive experience and contributions to Wikipedia. With over 12 months of experience, I've created 60+ articles and improved 100+ others. Granting my request will streamline the New Page Patrol process. I previously requested these rights last month, which was denied. Since then, I've improved my contributions. I believe my dedication and improvement warrant reconsideration. Thank you for considering my request. Royalesignature (talk). 03:08, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Nominating this editor for Autopatrolled based on a long history of high-quality page creation (80 new articles created in mainspace, with just one deleted a few years ago). Good encyclopedic style, excellent use of sources, images, formatting etc.; also creates talk pages. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:34, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
Reason for requesting autopatrolled rights Hi, I am requesting for this rights, because I have about 5 new articles that are yet to be reviewed and surely meets the notability criteria, I have been creating and improving articles especially on African Cinema and with this right, I hope to reduce the backlog on the new page reviewers log. Best regards, B.Korlah (talk) 06:36, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
To support WP:JAN25 I'd ideally like to be contributing to reducing the backlog as opposed to contributing to increasing the backlog at the same time. Overall in the last 25+ BLP articles I've created, there have been few to no edits made by NPR, aside from typos, grammar, and duplicate words. The first handful lacked certain templates, categories, default sorting, talk page banners, and the usual technical parts of articles, but I've since got to grips with including these. Since then I've only moved my drafts to mainspace, or created in mainspace, when I'm confident that there is enough SIGCOV and structure, and otherwise "incubate" articles not quite ready in draft space if not. I otherwise create quite a few redirects, with one disambiguated, and one batch up for discussion, but otherwise none deleted so far. Thanks for considering. CNC (talk) 12:40, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Extended confirmed[edit]
Reason for Request: I am requesting reinstatement of Extended Confirmed Rights after their removal by User:ScottishFinnishRadish for concerns related to "gaming EC through adding a machine translation of Fondation Maeght and Rueil-Malmaison in many small edits without attribution." He asked me to "make at least a few hundred edits" to regain it. Since the removal, I have added attribution to the concerned articles. I have made over 300 referenced contributions, focusing on adding reliable sources to improve verifiability, expanding content in alignment with Wikipedia’s standards, and enhancing article quality. I believe my recent contributions demonstrate constructive and policy-compliant editing. Examples of Recent Contributions: Water metering, Smart meter, and Gas meter, which are in my area of expertise. My recent edits also contributed significantly to upgrading the article History of the Jews in Tunisia from "Start-Class" to "B-Class." Michael Boutboul (talk) 12:28, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

File mover[edit]
Hello, I primarily work with files on Wikimedia Commons, where I have file mover and autopatrol rights. The process of file moving on English Wikipedia is almost the same as the practices on Commons. I also have experience working on files on English Wikipedia, including submitting several rename requests. Moreover, I have file mover rights on Bengali Wikipedia, further demonstrating my familiarity with file management across Wikimedia projects. I am familiar with Wikipedia:File names and request this right to enhance my work. Thanks.–𝐎𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢 ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ 05:15, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

New page reviewer[edit]
For the NPP backlog drive. This is my second time participating in one of these drives (hopefully I will be healthier and less busy this time...) -1ctinus📝🗨 02:34, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
I have refrained from requesting new page patroller rights, but now I believe it is time for me to request the rights. I usually deal with CSD, mostly U5 and G11, and most of my requests for CSD have been valid, though sometimes I am a bit bitey towards newcomers. I believe I am thorough enough to understand most of the policies in Wikipedia, and I definitely do not have a conflict of interest. Thank you for your considerations. 🔥YesI'mOnFire🔥(ContainThisEmber?) 10:09, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Hello! Rollback, autopatrol, awb, 15 year user, looking to help with the backlog and get more involved in a new area. For the NPP backlog drive in January. Ewhite31 (talk) 18:51, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
Am interesting in helping out with the January drive. I have reasonable knowledge of policy and have created 30+ BLP articles in the past 12 months. I'm not involved in AfC but have considered it for a while already, and otherwise have participated in a fair few AfDs, RfCs, and reviews. There is still plenty I don't know much about that I'm still learning, such as templates and categories and various other processes, but am otherwise here to learn more. Thanks for considering me. CNC (talk) 19:10, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
Hello, I would like to help with the January backlog, I have been editing for a while and have a good understanding of Wikipedia's guidelines. Sahaib (talk) 19:26, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
I was guided here by the notification about the January NPP contest, but honestly this looks right up my alley anyway. I've been an editor for quite a few years, largely doing gnome work and maintaining DAB pages, but in the past few years I've done a lot of Recent Changes patrolling, specifically filtering for newcomer edits, so this seems like a natural progression from there. I'd like to think that in my patrolling I'm very welcoming with the newbies, always keeping users that I've welcomed or warned on my watchlist for awhile to see if they ask for help. I know how to use tact when breaking bad news and am quite familiar with having that conversation with COI users who think they're making their own social media or corporate promotions page. If granted, I expect I'd get started even before January and probably continue long after. Thanks for reading! -- Fyrael (talk) 04:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights Rahmatula786 (talk) 08:02, 27 December 2024 (UTC) I understand that I am relatively new to Wikipedia, but I am well-versed in its policies and guidelines, particularly regarding notability, reliable sources, and neutral point of view. Being from Nepal, I have a strong familiarity with Nepali Wikipedia articles and their relevance. I am confident in my ability to identify reliable sources and distinguish them from paid or promotional content. Additionally, I can recognize conflicts of interest and promotional material that do not comply with Wikipedia's standards. If granted new page reviewer permissions, I would focus on reviewing pending articles related to Nepal, ensuring they meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I am committed to contributing constructively to the Wikipedia community. Thank you
I'd like to help with the backlog. I've created around two-dozen mainspace pages (including disambiguations) and 150 redirects and have participated in AfD discussions. – MW(t•c) 09:26, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
The backlog is insane, and I would like to do what I can to help reduce that. The backlog reduction drive does interest me, but I'm not in this for the recognition. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 20:07, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer[edit]
I request Pending Changes Reviewer rights to assist in reviewing edits. I have experience with editing and want to help maintain the quality of articles. Gwanki (talk) 00:24, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Have close to 1,100 edits as of making this request. I enjoy improving articles, I review recent changes daily by this point and am familiar with reverting vandalism (and distinguishing it from good faith edits). Having this right would mean I can instantly decline bad faith pending edits as soon as I see them. I have read and understood the relevant policies and guidelines relating to pending changes, vandalism and copyright. Beachweak (talk) 14:51, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi. Recently, i've been reverting vandalism and disruptive edits on Wikipedia with Twinkle and Ultraviolet, and as an extended-confirmed user, I have over 850 edits. I also revert good faith edits, and if I get this request accepted I will be able to reject vandalism put on pending changes (on pending changes). 🗽Freedoxm🗽(talk • contribs) 22:36, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
I am an active editor with page creation review rights and over 5,000 edits to date. I try to keep my edits neutral and have a history of working with others on some contentious topics. If I make a mistake, I try to fix it and apologise as soon as possible. I have a good grasp of WP policy and MOS, and understand the difference between vandalism, tendentious editing and unconstructive editing. I've also got a very good grasp of copyright law (UK and US) and plagiarism due to my academic and professional background. Lewisguile (talk) 09:08, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Rollback[edit]
I would like to request rollback rights to combat vandalism more efficiently. I am an experienced recent changes patroller and I understand that the rollback should be used mainly for clear cases of vandalism. I am committed to using this tool responsibly. Nxcrypto Message 12:07, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Hello! I've been patrolling Recent Changes for a few months now. Rollback will help my work, especially when I'm out and about and can only access the app. Cmrc23 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ 15:28, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi! Though I started out doing grammar fixes, over the past 2 weeks, I've been using Twinkle and RedWarn to revert any vandalism seen on Special:RecentChanges. It's understandable if you'd like to impose the hard and fast rule of 1-month experience, but I've made almost 300 edits related to vandalism. I always leave a message for the editor and undo my revert in cases where I question my decision in hindsight and would rather have another pair of eyes look at the edit(s). Having the rollback permission would make RedWarn reverting faster for me and would also allow me to try out other anti-vandalism tools like Huggle. Could I have the right please? randomdude121 (leave a message!) 09:19, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi, I would like rollback so I can more efficiently fight obvious vandalism and I will use it responsibly and will always assume good faith. I have over 200 edits, but a few days under a month of reverting experience on recent changes, but please let that slide because it includes around 50 good quality reverts with pretty consistent and accurate warnings on talk pages. I only revert very obvious vandalism currently, and that's what I will do if granted with rollback, so I doubt I would suddenly decide to abuse my power if granted. Thanks for the consideration Fishy-Finns (talk) 18:01, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Template editor[edit]
I requested template editor a few months ago for working on dark mode issues and got it for the rest of the year. However, it (turns out) (there are a lot of) dark mode related errors, a lot of which are in template protected templates or editnotices. Therefore I request a one year extension for this right. @Primefac: as the admin that originally gave this right. —Matrix(!) ping onewhen replying {u - t? - |

"Do you want to take a survey?"
[edit]On Feb. 12, 2005, I did a random pages survey. Out of 100 random pages, only 1 was a U.S. town. That's progress. Three towns in the UK, 1 in Spain and 1 in Portugal also turned up. Overall biographies were the largest category at 22%, followed by geography with 15% total. Then Lists at 7%, Disambiguation pages at 6%.
On Feb. 24, 2006, I repeated the 100 random page survey, this time getting 5 U.S. towns. Overall, geography had 26%, biography 21%, fiction 9%, music 4%, colleges 4%, lists 3% and disambigs 4%. Clearly geography and biography are our largest areas. Music, science and business scored less than I expected. Non-individual History was hardly discernable.
Even by Feb. 2005, 100 out of almost 500,000 was not statistically significant but was as much as I had patience for.
