Speedy deletion of List of Xcalibur characters

[edit]

A tag has been placed on List of Xcalibur characters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the page has no content except a list of character names – which are already listed at Xcalibur (computer animation) – and red links (the only two blue links are actually to unrelated topics). The page was created in April 2006 and never grew beyond that

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — Kpalion(talk) 21:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Surrender of Japan

What was your source for this edit? I'm trying to get that article up to FA status and sources have been requested. Raul654 (talk) 01:36, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ben Willis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines for fictional characters.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Neelix (talk) 23:34, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:37, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, SGCommand. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Silence (Doctor Who).

Signature

[edit]

Hi, quite separate to the Doctor Who issue, could I perhaps ask you to be careful to sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~ in future? There's a couple of places you've accidentally signed with three, which leaves out the time-stamp from your signature and makes it difficult for people to tell when you left your comment? Thanks! ╟─TreasuryTagCaptain-Regent─╢ 17:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your userspace

[edit]

Hi, SGCommand. I've just noticed that you have a huge number of pages in your userspace which seem to be for no purpose connected with Wikipedia, eg. information on your personal book collection, PlayStation games and some 'database' about which I am unclear. I'm concerned that many of these pages breach WP:NOTWEBHOST, which states that "Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they may be used only to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia."

So basically, my question is, is the tremendous amount of material held in your userspace germane to Wikipedia, and if so, how? Thanks in advance. ╟─TreasuryTagquaestor─╢ 14:36, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, didn't realise that. I'll problaly haveit deleted by the end of the year (if you don't mind), thanks again)!!!--SGCommand 14:44, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Erm – no. You don't seem to understand the nature of Wikipedia policy: WP:NOTWEBHOST states that the only acceptable use of userspace is to house material relevant to Wikipedia. If your userspace contains stuff in violation of policy, then "probably" deleting it sometime in the next seven months is unacceptable.
Unless you can explain how the content is germane to creating an encyclopedia, I will have to nominate it for deletion at the end of this month, and that should leave you enough time to save anything you want to. ╟─TreasuryTagTellers' wands─╢ 14:47, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
YEAH! Plus I hope your proud of the horrendously bad thing you created. 120.146.71.41 (talk) 05:26, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your HideTopContrib is not working because of WP:AORC

[edit]

I note you're using a static version of User:Markhurd/hidetopcontrib.js and it is currently broken by WP:AORC (and is otherwise out of date).

Your minimal fix is to comment out

li[i].getElementsByTagName("strong").length>0 ||

like I did because WP:AORC uses <strong> for large changes.

(There may be other differences between your version and my latest version -- I haven't checked exactly what version you have, or whether you've changed it.) - Mark Hurd (talk) 04:21, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Pirate Clans has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You requested deletion of that page some time ago (and I just deleted it). Unfortunately you used {{db-delete}} (which isn't supposed to be used directly) instead of {{db-g7}} or {{db-u1}}, so it took a while for admins to notice. Notice

The article Day of Chaos has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Custom signature fix needed

[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
